Hello! I'm Sarah

A qualified therapeutic counsellor providing a professional, confidential counselling service.

A registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP)  with full  indemnity insurance and an up to date DBS.

I booked onto an introductory couselling course wondering if it would be the job I was looking for that would fulfil my desire of helping people. Well, what can I say, I feel honoured and priveledged to be in a position where I can make positive differences to peoples lives. They say if you love your job you will never work a day in your life...so true for me.

What is counselling?

Counselling is a process when people want to change something in their lives, or simply explore their thoughts and feelings in a safe, non-judgmental and confidential environment through form of a talking therapy.

How can I help you?

I mainly offer a person-centred approach to counselling which means I will work to understand your experiences from your perspective, and accept you as you are so you can make sense of your difficulties without feeling judged.

However, recognising that no one person is the same, I will tailor our sessions to suit you. I can work in an integrated way which means I may draw upon useful resources and a range of techniques to support you.

Experience

I have previously worked in the NHS in Secondary Mental Health which gave me a useful insight into the difficulties ill mental health can have on individuals and their families.

Alongside my private practice I am employed as a Cluster School Therapist and School Counsellor working with children and young people in Leeds. I also provide remote counselling to adults at a  Health & Wellbeing charity in Leeds.

A word from my clients...

Sarah has provided a safe space for me to explore my own mind, experiences, relationships and helped me gain perspective that I've sorely needed in my life. Her person-centred approach has allowed me to explore difficult and unexpected things and help me naviagte my feelings in a way that feels authentic and real. As a trainee counsellor I've developed massavley and as a father, son, brother and partner even more. Thank you for heloing me to feel comfortable in being myself.
Thank you for all the help and support that you gave to me Sarah. You really helped me to get through a difficult time in my life! I have also managed to overcome some recent events which would normally  have taken me years or never to deal with and let go. You are a fantastic beautiful lady with a very warm heart.
Thank you so much for all your support getting me to a place where I feel a better person and able to cope with my family issues. I wouldn't be where I am now if I hadn't made that message. I feel like a new person.
